Ok so I had a system a long time ago in my cavalier nothing fancy. But I recently bought a 03 Chevy Blazer and thought it was time for another system I am wanting to go bigger than last time. I get on here and other sites and look at subs, amps, and the more I look the more I get confused as to what I want. I know about ohms and rms and all that so I am mainly wanting some input on what you guys think would sound the best I mainly listen to hip hop and rap, and love deep deep bass. So budget wise I was thinking 4-500 for the subs or even just one sub if you think it will do what I want. And as far as amps go I am really thinking hifonics and spending around $300 on an amp. As far as the box goes I can build that my grandpa is a master carpenter and can build anything. So the box is covered. I just really could use some input I have looked heavily at SQ and SA but am open to others. I am sorry if this thread is in the wrong spot if it is please tell me and ill move it. So with that information what do you guys think?

Also will be looking into adding another amp later on to replace all the 6.5 speakers in the doors but that will be after adding the amp for the sub and the sub itself.

Your in the right place. Figure out how much space you wanna give up and go from there. The hifonics will work. But if you go over 1600 rms on the amp. You'll need an extra battery and maybe a ho alt. get a better amp. And you may be able to get away with the battery only. But but depends in how much power

Well good thing is I just got a job working for a auto parts store so I should be able to pick up or order a battery if needed to and if I truly had to im sure I could find another alt. And thank you for the welcome

I just installed my SoundQubed HDC3 18". I've only had it in my car for two days, but I've been impressed so far. I'm not running much power so I can break it in, but on about half power it flexes a ton of stuff in my ride. Before I went SoundQubed, I was debating SQ or an Fi BL 18". Very similar prices and Fi has great build quality. I know you're budget isn't the biggest, but I'd suggest going with one of those 18's which will already save you some cash or going with two 15's like SoundQubed HDS315 or Sundown Audio SA15. A Hifonics Brutus 2400.1 will work nicely with all of those options listed above. Don't forget that everything you'll be running will need 0 gauge wire.
