im buying two punch p2 15's. i like their subs, its what i want. the rms is 500 and the peak is 1000 watts per sub and i want to run both at 500 watts a piece. i dont really want to go over 200$ for an amp and if i have to the most ill go is around 250 but im not really sure what amp i should get because im not good at wiring and such. ill be buying all new alpine car speakers and i hear people say they sound better hooked up to an amp. how do i also do that?
Look for a Class D two channel amplifier. They are less expensive to manufacture than class A or AB amplifiers, and they are well suited for driving sub woofers. I assume you want to buy new. If you are willing to buy used, you might look on eBay. Do a search for "old school". You might be able to pick up a US Amps or other older two channel amplifier with sufficient power for what you want. I am not so sure you can get one for $250 or less if you are looking for good quality sound. So, that brings me back to the new Class D amplifiers. If you go the latter route take a look again on eBay. There are several new sellers who carry different brands. I like Lanzar but there are others that folks on here will know more about than I do.
