i need help wth my laptop

hey guys i have a older laptop its a hp compaq nc6000,i had to reinstall windows xp a few weeks back. here is the issue i had to get a few drivers but today when i put in a dvd it said i need a dvd decoder. i tried a few searches but the ones that looked like it would work cost 15.00+ . im trying to play my dvds threw windows meda player. if anyone has a idea what i can do to play dvd's please let me know

google k-lite codec pack and install it. it plays everything great. i use it to watch movies on my big screen

sounds like you dont have correct drivers for your display adapter.

Screw windows media player. Try one of these:

VLC Player

DivX Player
