I need help setting up my bits and pieces in my 1990 Honda Accord please.

The car: 1990 Honda Accord, 4 doors, Automatic. All stock and no physical mod.

The car audio components:

-Amps: Kicker IX 252 (2X25W RMS), PhoenixGold V752 (2X75W RMS), these ratings are at 4ohms.

-Speakers: Alpine Coaxials SPS-17C2, and Alpine Components SP600C. These are 6.5" round speakers.

-Head unit: JVC 7 band EQ with HD tuner. I have front, rear, and sub RCA output from the head unit.

-Sub: Tiny 6" Roadmaster Bassblaster.

-Crossovers: I got them on the amps and I bought 2 pairs of bass blockers, blocking 0hz to 5000hz for my component tweeters and another rear tweeters set. I read that my Alpine SP600C frequency seperation is not that great. This component speaker set does not come with the actual crossover but just the long cable attach to the cables seem to be bass blockers caps. So no actual crossover.

-Installation kit: I got one from Ebay a 4GA kit.

I got most of these for free. The only components I bought was the JVC head unit for $50 and the PhoenixGold amp clearance for $22. I don't have much money and I got to use these bit and pieces.

I need advice on 2 amps wiring, including fuses connection and locations. I also need advice on amp placements. This is my first time setting up with amps but I have installed many head units and speakers before. With my 2 amps installation, do I need a fused distribution block and a ground block? Or can I just split the power cable without the distribution block? And ground the two amps seperately.

I am thinking of setting up as follow:

The Kicker amp to my front Alpine SP600C components speakers with 2 bass blockers on the tweeters.

Using the head until internal amp to the rear Alpine SP17C. I will put an extra set of tweeters with bass blockers in the rear.

The Phoenix Gold amp to my tiny sub in the trunk.

I know the 6" bass tube won't shake any kidneys but it would give me some bass to help my music sounds heavier.

I also planning on running new speakers wire, 16GA oxygen free in case I need to upgrade in the future. Do I need to take the seats out to run the wire?

The way the system is right now, I got the head unit driving the front Alpine SP17C and rear JVC VS625 and that's it.

Thanks for any advice and help.

get rid of the bass blockers. use the crossovers..they may not be good but 5K at what slope? Use the ones that came with drivers, take the bassbloickers back. First, try to use ONLY THE FRONT SPEAKERS. Since you are in no position to SPL, at least you can make it sound good.

Are those crossovers bi-ampable?

I don't know what amps you are using. Can you put the bassblaster up front with you?

The amps are 2 channels amps list on my first post. They are not top of the line but not the worse.

How would I set up the crossovers from my amps? The amps just have a switch for LP/Bypass/HP100hz.

The bassblaster can fit in the front with me but I would rather have it hidden in the trunk.

Thanks.

you said that the alpine had a crossover you didn't want to use...use it.

2 channel amps, yes, but how much power...you can't be throwing to many ohmses at your tweeters.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

A 6 inch bassblaster that has to power its way through the back seats....I don't know, man, G'luck.

Ok. I added more info to the amps and correct the speakers info since I just went out the storage and look at them today. Perhaps I can get more advice now. As for the sub, I think I won't put it in for now until I save up for a 10" or something.

As for a 2 amps installation, is the distribution block a must or can I just connect the power to amp#1 and the with another power cable from amp#1 to amp#2 and ground them both to the nearest points seperately?

Thanks,

Distributor block. For the life you save may be your own. When you are staring your install, its VERY important to be meticulous with every aspect of the wiring for correct sound. Safety, however, is something you just can't ignore in a car. If something goes wrong, will you be sitting sill or on the highway....

Electricity is electricity. It doesn't have to be super high-end, it just needs to be safe. Walmart distributor block will probably more than suffice at this point. The real problem is future proofing yourself. IOW, I have yet to upgrade my distro yet because there is ALWAYS something else. (I had to replace cars on the fly, though, and its been tough)

SO buy one with enough flexibility for the future but don't break the bank on it.
