I need help please

Hey. i have searched for this answer but no luck. I have a 2003 eclipse gs. I received a dvd HU for xmas. The hu does not have an illumination wire. There is an illumination wire coming out of the factory harness. Without the illumination wire hooked up I have no dash lights. I hooked it temporarily to the ignition line but that means my dash lights are always on. Where can I run the illuminatin wire to so my dash lights only come on when my headlights are on?

that's really odd.

the illumination wire that goes into the HU should only cause the H.U to DIM when ever the headlights are turned on.

did you cut into factory harness

no I did not cut into the factory harnesss. I ordererd the metra harness and amp integration kit. The metra harness was off a bit. I had to move the ignition line over a couple spots to actually make a connection but other than that no cutting
