Well egay deal fell out. I had bougth an ALpine type x for 170 incl. shipping. BNIB. But the guy claims he couldnt get it back from his ex.

I had a box built for it, 2.15 cubes net after port and driver displacement tuned to 32 hz with 2" port width.

What would fit perfect with that box? I have an R right now running of my ZX1000.1 but just a little paranoide to give it 1000 daily. Thats why I wanted the X. Im low bass, rap, hiphop junkie if that helps.

Some of the subs I been considering was of course the Alpine Type X, Pioneer TS-W3001D4 or TS-W3002D4, RE SX12D4 or SXX12D4. Or just keep the R and put in a bigger box? Right now its in about 1.75 cube box ported.

Trying to keep my budget under the 170, thats what was good about the Pioneers.

A guy out here wants to do a straight up trade of my R for his W6V2. Opinions?

try the power acoustik fubar subs. a single 12 will hold 1000. daily. and its only about 70 shipped. They are very loud and they do very well down low. a cheap setup but for under 160 you could throw 2 of them in a box. lol. dunno how much space you have but,,, I watched in a 93 s10 a guy with a 1800 watt kenwood exceleron amp run one of these in a sealed box with about 1.5 cubes sealed and was doing winsheild wiper hops lol. very loud setup. and they dont look bad either. just a cheap budget option.

So I got a new 2.5 cube gross box tuned to 32hz. I put the R in and it hits real low but now I miss the upper bass notes (50-100hz), I did i have in the old box 2 cube gross 30hz tune.

the box hits super low and deep. I like that, but...

How do get back that sound quality of the smaller box? Should I get an X, poineer, or even RE Se or SX to put in the bigger box?

Also at 1000w, the R sounds like its struggling with higher power. In the car, sounds good, but when your standing directly in front of it, it sounds like ***.

I saw, But I have a deal waiting for me when Im ready to pull the trigger. Locally, i was offered to pay 170 for an X. And also a pretty good deal on the pioneer 30001d4 is available. If i put up the money, I just want to make sure I'll be satisfied. I put up 140 for the box, and wasnt what I expected.

the big box is 2.15 cubes after port and sub displacement. I had it originally designed for the X. Im just hearing alot that the X is an SQ sub but hits really low as well. Im just wondering if i can get some that upper bass back with the X without sacrificying the low deep bass.

Results:::::

Type X installed into my big box. Hits lower than the R, Sounds cleaner, rolloff a little higher, but a tad better.

I know people hear say the R can handle 1000 and it does, but it can't do it like the X. My vote is for the X in my 2.15 net tuned to 32Hz.

Im satisfied now.
