Actually, you should be fine. Putting atf in your motor is an old school way of helping to clean the inside of your engine. A half quart shouldnt hurt it at all, just drain and refill with motor oil

Yeah man my dad called me this morning and said I should be fine, I guess he did some searching and read that it's not a big deal, thanks =D

you have nothing to worry about

just drain it out and put new oil in

sure you might of lost 20-30 bucks but its better than paying hundreds of dollars to replace or repair an engine.

drain oil, buy new filter, done

Alright, so I got off work about 11:30 CST, went next door to QuikTrip, went in to purchase some 5w-30 oil for my car...and I saw it and went over to grab... and I grabbed the wrong stuff and not noticing, I opened my hood, was pouring it in and noticed it was red, I looked at the bottle...Automatic Transmission Fluid.I don't even own a auto car, it's standard, so now I am changing my oil after I did it just last week... =(

There's a Walmart fairly close to every QuikTrip in Tulsa.

Go there and get REAL OIL. I don't know why QT bothers selling any thing along those lines.

He said his car is a manual. Why would he buy automatic transmission fluid? He bought the wrong stuff because he can't read.
