I may have killed my amp.....

Earlier today, I switched my comps to run bi-amped off of my 5-channel U.S. Amps 5500x. After getting it all set up, I forgot to switch the input config on the crossovers from parallel to bi-amp. Long story short, after running them for about 10-15 minutes, everything shut off and the amp was very hot. I pulled the amp out of my car and it looks like some of the components may have been burnt. One little diode actually came off the board and melted into the plastic cover on the bottom side.

I know.....I am trying to figure out how to disassemble the thing. All I would really need to do is get the plastic backing off but im not sure that is possible.

Well yeah, but no reason to come post what I already know and then proceed to "close" the thread. If he had nothing helpful to say, then why post?

You can see how the 4 little components there are all burnt up while the surrounding ones look fine.

After doing some reading and examining the amp carefully, it looks like its just the 4 resistors that have damage. Would the damage on these keep the amp from turning on?

Any help is appreciated.

its more than likely, that even having those resistors toasted, that the amplifier would still turn on...

does it go into protect? or just do nothing?
