I Know Nothing/Help Me pick out a system.

Alright let me begin, I bought a 01 Chrysler Sebring Convertible last week and I want to put in a nice soundsystem. I was looking at best buy and they have an alpine head unit called the X100, its $350 and it looks like it has all the bells and whistles. I want to be able to connect an ipod or iphone up to it. The guys there said I would need to get a $40 cable to connect to the unit too. Also I have a 4 disk cd changer built below my main stereo unit in my car, it looks stock but may have been after market. I would like to be able to use it, but if not no biggie. I then want to replace the 4 speakers in the car which right now are 6"x9" speakers. The guy told me I should get some alpine ones for about $100 a pair. Then I want to install a sub in my trunk, I was looking at dual 10" ones in a box at best buy too.

Can someone please tell me if these are good choices?

you can get so much better stuff for that money man.

Look around the buy/sale/trade forum for some nice speaker or headunit that is if you don't mind used stuff.

As for subs iv heard those dual 10's (my friend bought them haha) and they absolutely ****. Depending on what your into (sq or spl) you have plenty of sub options for less cost. Maybe a alpine type R for about 100 bucks or soemthing along those lines...

The problem is that if I buy stuff here I wont know how to install it, and make it look nice, which seems like a good reason for me to get it from a "big box store"

you can buy stuff here and have some place install it, just not best buy go to a local audio shop

Yeah please do not go to best buy or something similar...they're actually usually the worst buy, and learning how to do it yourself is MUCH more satisfying after you realize you saved a ton of money...on your car insurance. (that's a joke though lol)

not to mention MUCHHH more expensive than what you can find online.. ex: Type R, or RF. Punch series
