ok so i installed my old setup in my friends car like 3 months ago

and something happened and hey blew the fuse under the hood(i never blew it when i had it and all gains are exatly the same.. mabey less) soo i went into circuit city adn asked if they had any of the fuses, and i show him mine.. and he said hold on a sec and goes in the back and got me one for free.

soo i put the fuse back in and nothin at all.. the only thingi changed was the fuse.

soo i go check everything back there and every thing is the way i left it 3 months ago... can any one tell me whats up

the amp is a sony 1200 watt 2 channel amp.. it still has the pretective plastic on the front haha

oh and the power/protect light... its green= power.. and it never showed it was in protect mode

yeah it turned on .. the power led was green.. so yeah

but nothing was moving at all

and he knows absolutly nothing about audio.. and he knows to stay clear of it too

ps. i dont have a DMM

thats on my to do list

i checked those too

.. i didnt check the fuse,, i could see that it was broken..

so i got a new ont.. that looks cheap.. mabey thats it.. it was free lol

**EDIT**

yeah its still good

i undid the + for now just incase

well if fuses are good and amp is getting power and is not going into protect mode, then you are either not getting signal, your sub settings could be turned of on HU, or speaker wires arent getting a good connection. Or something could have just messed up inside the amp, but go over the first 3 first with a comb.

no sub settings

factory headunit

i did highs instead of rcas

i did each connection with the utmost attention, then i heat shrunk it

i know the speaker wires are good . i just pulled em off to check

the only settigns he has t control the subs is the bass knob on the factory unit... he had it all the way down when we tryed it after the fuse... then slowly cranked it up .. nothing

not even any movent at all

ill check the high connections more tomorrow and get back to you on then.. but im pretty sure nothings wrong with em

i bought the amp..like a year ago i never blew a fuse and had the exact same set up.. just shorter distance to the unit

hey .. if some how some where the positive wire got pinched or something and grounded its self.. would that affect the amp.. or no cause its just a loop and the amp isnt in it

.. cause that would have blown the fuse .. right

edit/add in

haha yeahh 69 views hahahaa

oh and its only 11 here.. w/e

if your power wire got pinched and grounded out it would have blown them. but if that happened make sure you repair the power wire so it doesnt happen again. double check your input wires (from your speakers that give it signal) and make sure they are connected. then make sure your bass control knob is connected. some amps wont play without it.
