I know it shouldnt, but my ported box sounds better to me.........

They are 2-RE8's , the box is already built....a friend of mine who is real good at box building did it. IF I remember everything right, he said it has 2-5 inch ports, flared to 7 1/2 inches that are 9 inches long and though the box is tuned to 35hz he said that the subs would probably peak around 40-45hz. I've seen pics of the box, and it does look sweet. Knowing the guy like I do, I'm pretty sure he was able to figure the correct dimensions for the ports. He's holding everything for me until I can get the money together. I'm paying $175 for both of the subs and the box, so I would say thats a good deal. The reason I'm going with 8's is because of

1>space consideration, I do have plenty of space in the trunk, but I want to be able to get to my spare tire without having to remove the subs

2>I don't want a LOT of extra bass anyway, just some extra thump in the trunk.

3>Too good a deal for me to pass up.

My JL moved like mad in the sealed box, but didnt have a great amount of output.....in the ported box, it moves about half as much and vibrates the whole car. Everything in my car vibrates.....all mirrors, sun visors, spoiler on the trunk......hell, I think I need dampening material now.
