Heres the deal guys. I joined this forum after I bought all of my car stereo components, which I did with little research. For the price was it stupid of me to buy 2 12in Alpine Type Rs? Or could I have gotten much better subs for much cheaper? I put them into a Wicked One and want to know what I can expect for a top score on SPL? I was optimistic and thinking upper 140s?

too many variables you havnt told us, box, placement, vehicle, wattage, such things as this. also the price you spent on all that, but i doubt upper 140's
Aight I got a MA Audio HK602sx running them per specs 700watts RMS at 2ohms. The box is in the trunk of an 04 Cavalier 2door rear faceing there is only around 3-4 inches of space between the box and the front/back of the trunk. I need to upgrade my electrical I just have stock bat/alt for now but looking into getting a batcap or comperable bat and a 270Amp alt. roughly 200amp at Idle. I have the Big 3 in 1/0 and 1/0 ran to the sub amp.

If you get upper 140's with a pair of arrrghs, I will be suprised, especially in a prefab box.
What did you pay for everything and what amp do you have on them?
I wouldn't my buddy had 2 infinity reference 10s in the wicked one in his cavy. And when we hooked it up to I believe a Termlab it scored like 144. And the Wicked One isn't prefab I built it I scaled the 10" model up. From Audiophile Tube Amplifiers and Loudspeakers by DECWARE

I'd be sad if I only scored in the 130s thats pretty pathetic. That enclosure is pretty sick but I definitely have a lack of space in the trunk prob shouldn't of made such a ginormous box I think its roughly 7cuft

I bought erthing brand new MA amp was 380 shipped and type Rs were 120 each shipped.

if it wasnt extremely expensive it wasnt a termlab, if it was you would know for sure it was. id estimate 130's, that isnt pathetic it just isnt quite as good as others, and the products you have arent exactly the best either but no doubt respectable, be happy with it, it beats most retards with 1 cvr and a boss amp in .3 cubes sealed

Yeah it wasn't a termlab then. It was at some guy's house that had built the Imperials. He had some computer software to do it and a microphone. I always suspected those numbers were a little high. I'm really interested to see what numbers I hit though once I upgrade the electric. If I were going for max spl I might wire her diferently to 1ohm thats pretty risky though thats 1200watts of juice headed to the type rs...but meybe for numbers sake. I am happy with it I was just thinking sometime I might wanna upgrade to different subs and was curious what would be a good choice given that box and that amp.

Well how do you enter in competitions/ is there any close to st. Paul this summer? Never been to one before but I think it would be cool to go. I'd like to try to compete too, but not sure what division i'd fall under I know theres different classes.
