Hi! I'm planning out my setup for my car and after some research here's what i have come up with so far.

Cadence 17 HC AMP

2 SA-8 D2 subs

Each SA-8 sub is rated at 400 RMS. Can i run 2 SA-8 D2 if i have a Cadence A7 HC mono amp which is rated at 1200w @ 1 ohm, 800w @ 2ohm?

I would wire the SA-8's parallel so the Amp would see 1ohm and therefore each sub would get 600RMS of power. does that sound right?

I was told the SA-8 is under rated and can handle more than 400RMS. I just want to make sure so i don't blow my subs

But why not step it up to two digital design 1508 DVD subs and give them full power if I remeber right that amp will do more like 1400-1500 watts if you can keep volttage up. I have 2 1508's in a hexibase.com t-line enclosure plays from20-80hz and actualy has a stronger low end that top end. I love them they actualy want more power I'm going to buy a new p and give them 1000 each do to the box design and will love it as long as I don't clip the power. I can understand if it is do to funding I just know the 1508 is a way better driver IN MY OPINION.

...because he has extensive use with both drivers........//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

What ever dude don't even try to be that guy because I have owned both the 1508 is a more durable higher power driver if you want a driver that will take more abuse and be louder it is superior I'm sorry that I found a flaw in my wording for you to poke at . In my opinion it is a better driver My bad. I didn't put in my own opinion I'm using a I touch do to my computer being down so it's hard to proof read my post

There is nothing wrong with either sub. But at $150 + ship for a standard cone DD BNIB, why not pick up a Sundown SA-8 for $99 + ship ans save $100.

HOW DO YOU KNOW?

You don't. You are talking out of your ***. They are rated at around the same RMS. Do you really want to pull the "oh well DD under rates their stuff, it will take much more then rated" card? Let me stop you before hand and tell you so does Sundown. I have ran both Sundown and DD 8's. I pushed an Orion 2500D to 2 Sundown E-8's @ 2ohm daily. They took it like a champ. On the other hand I stressed a DD1508 on an MTX TA7801 @ 4ohm. Please do me a favor and get of of DD's nuts. Kthanks.

Sorry if i offended you man didn't mean to I sad in my own opinion. I would rather be treated with a little respect as I feel both sundown and dd are both great companys with amazing products for the price you very well could have just sad yu disagree and that in your opinion sundown is equal or better in your opinion. I am not trying to thread Jack and just askng a question and giving my opinion in personal use. Though I must say that I have a hard time beliving your finding your box for the dd subs had to of been off or something or it Is because I have dual voice coil 1508's I have 700- 800 watts going to each sub with out a problem and they want more they slam for the size with amazing sq for being more or less entery level drivers. As for your finding with using the e-8's with what I am guessing to be 600watts per driver I belive it and agree I'm just saying that I am putting more than that to my 1508's and they strive for more. It was purely a sugestion not saying that his choice was crap just offering a second option, you did how ever do a good job at irritating me until inrealised there is a mature way to act and that I should do so. You are how ever the reason why I don't go on the forums and offer my opinion to people asking for help because people like your self don't know how to lay well with others. We are all here to ether help or learn or both there is no reason to bash any one

Lmao, you'll fit in nice around here. I was pointing out that you have 0 experience with one of the drivers mentioned, therefore your opinion means nothing and is totally irrelevant. I can't say I disagree, because I don't know. I mean shit, I own a dd1508 and it's a great sub but I wouldn't say it's a better driver than even the e8. That's because I've never used one.

That's what is funny that you ***-u-me-d I have not used the sa-8 like I have before I went with the 1508's as my final choice I bought one of each because I was unsure played around with a few boxes decided I liked the 1508 more and have been happy sense well other than them being power hungry in the enclosure there in and lacking the output I would like on kickdrums but I'm sure it is also not having a good eq like I will soon enough and enough power .
