I just picked up my "new" table saw

Good for you. The belt drive is good in case you jam your blade. Rust is irrelevant. You aren't taking it to a saw show are you?
You have different styles of rip blades there. Throw out the non-carbide tipped one. Also don't trust that crappy little measuring ruler on the arm - always measure from the blade to the fence using a tape measure...
My dad is a machinist and we got our fence within +- .05

but the delta we have has a really nice fence too

Nice saw though, I prefer the older heavier duty ones or the really solid new ones over some of these cheaper ones that alot of people have.

The table may look funny cause we coated it with oil so it doesnt rust //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Nice, dude! I like it. I like the thing on the bottom. I kinda want one. Did you make it, buy it, or did it come with it?

Nice find.

In the saw blade pic.

The top is for ripping,

middle for like light product, plastics, 1/4 luan ect.

bottom is a general rip/crosscut.

The one in the saw is for fine cuts.

the closer the teeth are the finer the cuts.

Any particular reason not to use the one in the saw right now for all my cuts? (I'm gunna be cutting mostly 3/4" MDF or 1/2-3/4" Plywood

It came with it, you cant see it but on the other side is a pedal to lift the saw and it puts it on wheels so you can roll it around, when you kick the pedal down it sits on 2 wheels and 2 footrest things (which lock it in place pretty good).

Yeah. I think I see the two footrests. That's pretty badass.

I can't really tell how sturdy it is right now. One of the nuts from the leveling feet broke off or fell off or something. So, right now it's pretty wobbly. Gunna get a replacement nut tomorrow.

Here is a stock photo that depicts the pedal fairly decent

yea, thats fine for mdf. It will make nice clean cuts.

personally i would just go buy a new blade such as a dewalt or american vermont. Something in the $30 dollar range. Those higher priced blades are very nice, but used mostly in fine furniture and cabinet making. A cheap blade will wear fast and make inaccurate cuts, due to heat distortion. Cutting MDF can shorten a blade to to the glues used in making it.

look at that $29 general pupose blade.

i wish it had a longer fence. does anyone know if u can buy and extended one and maybe a sliding crosscut fence?

for occasion use, like making the odd box here and there, I just make an extension out of scrap 1/2-3/4 ply and a straight piece of poplar

Haha. I know. I'm 5'6", 110 pounds. My brother's 5'10", 275 pounds and he has a stock-height '03 F-150. [The bed is about 3 or 4 feet off the ground]... and it slipped out of my hands as it was coming down. The bish cut right into his bed liner. All the way to the metal. It took us 20 minutes and a lot of manly grunting to get it out.
But thanks, I'll definitely do that. I got some WD-40 on the top on accident and it looked shiny. But I'll get some of that Paste wax tomorrow.
