it says on the tickets in PA, gives you a whole break down of the fine. I dont mind getting a ticket, I usually am in the wrong, but I dont like getting the points, thats what kills ya. If you can get away with a fine and no points, count yourself lucky, but sorry to hear ya got a ticket though, good luck with it---Dinty

Man I hate cops, every time I see one I fear for my life. I've done nothing bad, but it's the feeling that the people who are trying to protect you are pulling you over and demoralizing you. I don't know how else to explain it.

61 in a 45. i was like wtf. it was on a back road, and the speed limit changed real quick for a sharp turn. on top of that, copper tagged me for a tail light out. he said he'd drop if i showed a receipt that it was fixed at my court date. this is my first ticket too, you think it'll get dropped? im really pissed off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif .

Personally I wouldnt belive him and simply wouldnt go to court. I got pulled over about two months ago by a total dick. Sat on the side of the road for about an hour hearing him yell about how he hated everyone from my school, how hard his job was, blah blah blah. Finally I get my tickets which were speeding, not having registration on hand (didnt know it had to be carried in pa), and expired license. He then tells me I reccomend you get a copy of your registration and get your license renewed and go to court and theyll be dropped (minus the speeding). A few min later he said that he doesnt care if I dont show up to court etc after making a date because he gets paid overtime and all sorts of other stupid bs.

In the end I took care of everything and went to court. I wasnt even in there for 10min. The cop pretty much has no say so of weather its dropped or not as far as I know. The judge simply told me "ok i see you have your stuff taken care of but did you not have your registration when pulled over" I said "no i didnt and explained as to why" he said "ok well this is pa, and you may have it now but not when you got pulled over" same thing with the license he said "well it was expired when you got pulled over" so pretty much tough shit. Ended up having to pay the tickets (total was ~550) and it wasted my time while the cop got paid extra (then again if the guys a cop he prolly needs it).

Seems as if you might end up having a similar problem in the end. Sure you go to court and your light is fixed but guess what....When you got pulled over it wasnt working.

check your laws...some states this can make the ticket voidable if it is not posted on it.

In Indiana it doesn't state anywhere on the ticket, but they provide you with a separate informational sheet that states the fines on it.

Looking over them yesterday, it's a little ridiculous.

For example;

Throwing a cigarette butt (or even the match used to light the cigarette) out of the window is a $130 fine.

Going 20MPH over the speed limit is $120.

Failing to stop at a red light/stop sign is a $110.

Operating a vehicle without a license....again, $110.

Found it interesting that they try harder (by way of a more severe fine) to curb cigarette butts or matches being thrown out of a car window than they do excessive speeding, running red lights, etc.

Hire an attorney, or check and see how much court costs are before you argue in front of the magistrate. Even if you "win" the case, court costs might only be slightly less than it would cost to hire an attorney and have the charges dropped completely.

I dont even know why you would say that shit!

I had many tickets when I was 16. Was up to 6 pts on my DL and my insurance went up, but it didnt double. They never once threatned me about dropping me either. Most insurances companys are not the same.

So on that note, dont listen to this guy.
