Well the day started off very well with my first dB drag competition here in tampa at Divine sounds on Dale mabre... best of all free to enter... well haveing 1 sub an d 2 batteries they put me in the super street 1-2NO WALL class (which is cool because my sub fires off a baffle intot he cabin. I was one of the first people up to the meter for the qualifying round...did 140.1dB on the new term lab, which i think isnt too bad for 1 xxx 15 in a 4 door maxima with 1800w....

well as the the day progressed in to the night it took sooo long to get all 80ish people qualified..the places needed someone directing traffic and getting things moveing but it either way it was still slow and teedious.....

They finally get done qualifying everyone into thier classes with thier opening numbers aprox. 5 and a half hours after the show started.....and after alll that wait i say on the bracket some hope....all i had to do was eliminate the first guy i was against and even if i lost after that i'd still go home with 3rd place, which was trophy.... thats allllllll i wanted, was a trophy....just something to put on my wall and say hey i made 3rd at my first dB drag competition...i really had myheart set on that. and the guy i had to put out i had him done all day (assumeing he hadnt just qualified with a low # but i think he was doing his best)..... he had 2 treo ssx's sealed with a zapco 9.0 in an impala... quaified with a 136.4dB......and i had 140.1dB.... assumeing nothign went wrong, i would have had him done all day and 3rd place was mine.....

sure enough......within MINUTES of going up to the meter for that round the cops FINALLY show up 6 hours after the show began and started being assholes.... what got them there was the fact some people parked somewhere on the grass they werent supposed to, and while they were there they pointed out the fact that in the state of florida, if you have an event in a parking lot with more than 30 people and its nighttime...you need a permit...and did the jackasss at divine sounds NOT have?? a permit......so thus the cops shut down the show.....

so they gave out the trophies immediately after that to the people with the highest qualifying scores per class....and sure enough....in my class....i was 4th.....had the show continued i would have been in 3rd.....but no.....due to factors beyond my control.....the one thing i wanted out of all of the 6 hours of waiting was yanked from my reach. hell i could have crashed my piece of shit 92 maxima ina a wall that night and if i got that trophy i still would be happy. alli could think about for DAYS leading up to the comp was man i want to win a trophy..any trophy..but thanks to poor planning, inefficent traffic directing, and the help of the hillsbourough county serriff's office......i died a little on the inside...

...to make matters worse there my parents yelled at me hardcore for school related matters RIGHT when i got home to completely make the night worse....

but hey on the bright side i did a 140.1dB on the term lab with 1 xxx15 with 1800w with 6.5 cubs tuned to 34Hz for a grea SQL mix......140dB....1 sub fro daily....i'll take that

....but man i had a little special place in my heart, as well as on top of my dresser, for that 3rd place trophy......

i know that guy didnt have anything more in his treo subs that he could do....i had it HAD IT HHHAAADDD IIITTTTTT

.....it was a very depressing night..

be happy- you can compete again-weather you win or lose you still enjoy your ride, you have serious bass, most people are driving around with sony/audiobahn and shite amps- you are a very lucky person- enjoy your luckiness;) go out for a drive and bump!

so u built ur system for a plastic 1 foot third place trophy? u could've bought one from a trophy shop....hell you could have bought every one of the regulars to this forum a 2 foot one.................

im sayin BUILD IT FOR YOURSELF not a plastic trophy.

just the statisfaction of winning any trophy with my daily driving setup would haver tickled me on the inside just the right way.......

just saying it sucks how things unfolded.......
