Im gonna wash the car tomorrow to get off the paint that was grinded into powder so I can see the real damage.

Do you guys think it would do anything to protect the damaged bits if I were to put a layer of wax over it? Like to prevent it from getting worse?

don't even bother, you're not cleaning up that type of damage. just leave it be and it will make for a good story to your buddys...............say you were drifting in a parking garage and skimmed a concrete support....the building fell down just before you got out at the last second.
