1. I have 2 audiobahn Aw101T 450wrms subs. I calculated the voltage to be 43.4 volts, but when it even in the low 30's the subs look like theyre going to bottom out, probaly because my box is tuned to 43 Hz. Is the multimeter method only for sealed boxes or for tones above the tuning frequency?

2. Why were my subs overheating if they werent clipping?

3. What does FTW mean.

4. Would you personally sell the two audiobahns and buy a dual 4 L7 to use with the same amp? Ported??

1.) you are either playing below tuning or the subs are efficent enough to bottom out with their rated RMS power

2.) When subs overheat they blow or smoke, if the dust cap is hot who cares //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

3.) For the win

4.) yes, or another sub. RL-P, or save and SI Mag //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ok that clears a lot up. I already have a buyer and im planning on getting a new sub cheap on ebay. But it must run close to 900 wrms at 2 ohms.

One more question: How do you tell how many watts the subs are getting? Do you meansure the voltage output and multiply it by the supposed number of amps the amp draws?

to know EXACTLY how much power its getting you have to know the impeadance at that frequincy at that volume level or you have to know the voltage and the amperage. Clamp meter is the best idea, you can measure voltage and amperage and be 100% accurate with ease. they cost like $50 starting for a good one.
