I wouldnt take advice from Prowler, if any of you have ever been in a world history class you would no about the campaign austrralia had to give women free land and homes in australia since men outnumbered women 13 to 1 and homosexuality was huge. they even promote gay and lesbian travel to australia more than san francisco and australia takes great pride of it on their main website. The only reason that Australia came to be a part of the conversation at all is because my WIFE (not gay in the least) happens to be an Aussie and consequently so is her family having been born and bred in the state of South Australia.

I feel that as long as they do not try to make a pass at you then you continue business as usual. but seriously though the fact that he decided to "come out" should not be a factor in your relationship with him (as friends).

Here at work we have gay people working and they are pretty cool "sometimes funny" to work with but at the end of the day you go home and live your life as usual.

Let's look at this rationally.

There's this guy you know. Cool guy, all-around decent sort of dude. Gives good advice, obviously cares about the people around him. You've known him for about 3 years and don't have any sort of problem with him, in fact you consider him to be a friend.

Seems to me that you don't, nor did you ever hate gays. You hated the idea of being gay.

You're friends with this guy. Why would that change? He's the same person he always was. In my humble opinion, an experience like this is probably the best way to open the eyes of the ignorant.
