I have a dilemma...

I'm getting two 12" Type R's (4ohms) at 500W RMS each. Now, the amp I already ordered (HiFonics BXi 1206D) has 1200W RMS at 1 ohm...that means 600W would go to each sub, right? That's 100 more than it needs. But someone on this board said the BXi 2006D (2000W RMS) would be much better. Now here's my dilemma...I would have to pay shipping AND a 25%-35% restocking fee to send back the 1206D. Is it really worth it to pay all that extra money to get the 2006D, which is ALREADY $100 more?

I'm thinking it will sound great, especially compared to my stock system....I figure I can upgrade to the BXi2006 sometime in the future....

Any input?

If it sounds good to you then keep the 1206D and save the upgrade to the 2006 for later.

i did run around 1100 rms to my 15 and my buddy runs an mrd m1005 to one r 12, ,,,, it will still sound good... but about 750 to 800 rms, with gains set accordingly will thump...... goood.... i love type r's so good and so cheap.... alpine FTW

I just don't want to open it up, set it all up, and then be disappointed. Then I would have to sell it for like half price since it's used.
