I have a 500/1 JL amp and I need help..

I am currently driving a 97 dodge caravan. I have a alpine DHP deck that is a few years old now. I recently bought a 500/1 JL amp from a friend of mines because he needed some money for college. Well I need help.. Friend of mine told me to go all out on tweeters because people dont jack them. My car has no alarm and I don't plan on spending money on em. I was wondering if I can run the 500/1 JL amp to 150-260 dollars of JL components and not burn em out. Or should I go for the subwoofer and put my car in danger.. If so what components should I go for. Im pretty much a budget and Im looking for SQ. I wanted to upgrade Bose but they are pretty hard to find. Other than that friend of mine told me to go with Polk audio because of there SQ and they're not too expensive like JL's..

You can't run the tweets of fof the 500/1. Use the JL amp for a sub. As far as comps, PM 6spdcoupe about some Rainbow SLC's which will be 10 times better than the Polk for about the same pricing (retail). You should also look at an amp for the upgraded comps.

the 500/1 is a sub amp hench the /1 now if it was a/2 or/4 you could run comps off it. so like the 300/2 or the 400/2(i beleive there is one) that would be a great amp to use
