I hate ******s that think they know everything

AH.

So today, my english class is in the library, and we are working on our senior project. So this guy I know comes up and starts talking to me and my friend, and then starts bragging about his system.

He told us he got a Solo X 18 from his cousin for 200, then put some kicker amp on it. He told us how he loves it and wants to get like a 50 farad cap because it looks cool.

My friend then chimes in, telling me I should get one because they look cool (he actually does have some knowledge beyond basic high school car audio).

I told them that they don't do anything good and are just a temporary band-aid like fix and then they proceed to laugh at me because they obviously do something.

Not only that, but my friend constantly hurts his subwoofer, (+8 bass boost, +6 on the amp for bass boost, sub level turned up to +15, his gains are lower then they should be, but you can hear the subwoofer distort easily).

I always tell him that, and he says, oh well, I'll just get a new sub.

I HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT.

a) caps do have a purpose.. everyone says caps are useless but when used in the correct circumstances they help.

b) you probably did the to someone else about something you dont know anything about

c) alot of people here do the same thing, talking like they know everything. reccomending or putting down shit theyve never experienced or had.

d) your stuff is way better than theirs. as long as you know that, who cares? its high school. people are gonna do the "who has a bigger dick/subwoofer" thing

A kid heard I got a system, and were good friends. he wants to compare. we go out to the parking lot, he as a older blazer, and 2 sony explodes. only one of them work in a prefab sealed box. he turned it up, and it sounded horrible. he sat in my car, and was like well, your louder cause your in a car, I did the normal "yeh" and nodded my head.

now he wants to buy the sub and box lol.

I'd bet that with the exact same amount of power, same enclosure, same driver, taking my e12a.22 out of the bat cave it's in now and putting it in something smaller would gain quite a bit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

a) I know. I'm not very smart with them, because not only did my car never have the "dimming headlights" (meaning my sub must bump, apparently) but because most people here told me not to go get one. They think of it as a second battery.

b) Whenever i do that it blows up in my face.

there are kids like that in some of my classes. it makes me laugh most of the time... i mentioned that im into car audio and this kid spoke up and was like, "oh really? bet your system doesnt beat my 2 comps." i say, "what's your set-up?" he replied with.. "2 kicker comps in a pro-box, on a legacy 500 watt amp."

i laughed and said "cool" as i walked away.
