Please explain to me how its cheaper? Ohio has lower cost of living than most places and is cheap. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif I like it that way though.
Yes, the cost overall is cheaper...but it also comes with a negative increase in gain. Figures are median home prices and percentage gain...
Lexington, KY $155,500 5.00%
Louisville, KY $96,000 0.00%
Cincinnati, OH $99,000 -0.70%
Hamilton, OH $103,250 4.80%
Kettering, OH $121,500 1.50%
Dayton, OH $63,000 -4.50%
Also what does not having any idustrial have to do with anything? That brings a shit ton of good paying jobs to the area. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif I mean they are falling as of late even around here, which isnt good because is a huge part of the economy.
Personally, I'd rather my city be surrounded by horse farms and racetracks than coal mines and shipping yards. Provides for a cleaner city, but anyway, to the point...
These figures are median income followed by job growth percentage...
Lexington, KY $59,193 5.35%
Louisville, KY $37,772 -1.09%
Cincinnati, OH $39,633 -4.94%
Hamilton, OH $47,342 0.68%
Kettering, OH $61,251 -3.88%
Dayton, OH $36,491 -3.86%
These figures are quality of life ratings (air quality index), potential personal crime scores (100 being natl average, the lower the better), and crime per 1000...
Lexington, KY 78.6% 102 136
Louisville, KY 40.3% 174 199
Cincinnati, OH 49.6% 165 177
Hamilton, OH 53.7% 180 217
Kettering, OH 66.2% 31 111
Dayton, OH 39.7% 283 338
Also is nice to have Cleveland or Cincinnati because at least we have sports teams like the Reds, Indians, Bengals, Browns, Cavs and so on and so on. What does Kentucky have? The demo derby and the Kentucky derby. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Oh an plenty of hilljacks! We do have you beat in crime rate though, I am sure of that.
I could care less for what sports teams we have given the fact that I don't watch sports...especially baseball or football. Even if you don't like the derby or horse racing, do some research on the industry and see how much it really brings in. You'd be surprised. Being that I'm from a thoroughbred family, I see it first hand.
Now, I may have been wrong when I said Kentucky is cheaper, but then again you couldn't pay me to move somewhere like Kettering which is virtually the only comparable town within a reasonable distance from here. Like I said, I'm only here for school anyway...In a few years I'll sell my house, which given the booming real estate economy here will have made me a shit ton of money, and go someplace else.
