i hate my sedan

i have a 2001 Taurus when i had subs 2 12's Kicker CVR's in a sealed box 1.25 cu ft for each sub it the bass would get hella loud inside the car and not that loud outside the car but when i had my 1993 grand am it would be hella loud inside and the same as outside the car and i had a shitload of dynamat layered for trunk when i had that car. i miss that car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I have 2 12" Alpine type R's in a sealed box doing 141.2 and it seems loud as shit in a trunked car. My seats fold down, so that helps. I want to switch it over and face the subs foward and seal it off from the trunk. Had it that way( without it being sealed from the trunk) and sounded just as loud by ear and a lot cleaner. Time to gear up for an install. I just need a new bass amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

When i had my Grand Am and i had 400 wrms on the 2 kickers and it hit 135 db...prolly sounded cleaner cuz it wasn't bouncin off the metal like by your rear i mean near the panel of fucuk lol near the tailights of your trunk i can't make sense this morning //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

Id take anything over a standard cab truck that im using now. It can still get loud. But its limited.

But it comes in handy for hauling stuff around. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

In my 2001 Taurus theres freakin sound deadening everywhere so my bass and music stays in my car 90% of the time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

WTF! I didnt understand any of that, so...................yeah:laugh:

fire the subs towards the rear they will hit harder...
Yea, I know. Have u looked at my system pics? I have it all carpeted and everything the way it is. And either way, I would still be illegal for local comps. Back seats dont fold down. I've tried it facing the other way, with the seat up, and theres very very little sound that cames through. Also, in the winter, I get frost in my trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif :crap: ! I dont want subs to freeze up. The way I have it now, I can look back and "SE" excursion too. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

I know some people may think im stupid, but im just waitin to get some money in the bank cuz im gettin an SUV. My car is an old 92. Time for a 2002 Durango.

I know what u mean about that crap, mines even worse, in addition to being a trunk car it's completely sealed off, behind the back seats is a huge metal panel. Than behind that is my gas tank -_-. I have a little hole on my dash that actually leaves an opening into the trunk and thats only because I took out the stock 10" sub. IB for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well the system you see below is in a 98 Neon... I usually will put my seats down to help the fill come into the car. I have only one layer of Damplifier in the whole trunk, which I'm gonna be adding some more soon, maybe if I keep this hunk. Mine seems to be getting around 142-143db with seats down and windows up. Not bad I guess, but I did notice with my car its louder in the front seats then the rear seats. I would love to get a hatchback or something, man they sound good. Definently adding the Mat helped a bunch though, even with my seats up its still sounds pretty good. All in all though SUV's just sound loud because its all open. Durango's=Horrible gas mileage!

How do you like the PA2400? Is that a class D as well? I am looking to get into a nice cheap amp that does close to rated power and I know a guy that sells them pretty cheap over here, but I never liked PA back in the day. Also how is it louder in the front? Do you mean right by the front windshield, like when you put your ear up there? Mine is a lot louder by ear anyway in the back and I am close to what you are hitting, but my amp keeps going into protection mode. So on that note, does yours and does that amp pull a lot of current to make the lights dim?
