i hate fedex. pic of broken mt

Just break the basket on another sub and if they have to take it give them the one you broke //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif sucks tho man

my 18" MT is supposed to be back from RE tomorrow, and its coming VIA FedEx as well. It was off getting a new basket which UPS broke. This package was supposed to be here on Saturday, and it got lost or something at one of their facilities so its just now getting here. If its broke i may just go off on someone.

matt sent you his MT through fedex //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

But his was packed up real well..

i had a sub in the past delivered to me using UPS wrapped in foam with little air bag things, but the basket itself was bend 90 degrees in a corner. I almost completely smashed it but decided to give hifisoundconnection a shout out on how bad the product was they sent me!

in a big box stuffed with foam peanuts, and heavy paper wrapped around the sub.
anyone think a jb weld repair will hold?
I wouldnt send a 60-70lb sub in a box with paper and peanuts only, just my opinion.

yea JB weld should hold it. it might be a bit uneven, hopefully your box is not vertical lol.
but they should NOT take the speaker from you. i dont know, i wouldnt let them =\
Why not, if they are buying him a new one? I sure as hell wouldnt let em touch it until I got the money, though.

I love how its always fedex, ups, etc fault. I mean you shouldnt package a 60+lb sub they same way you would pack an 8lb 8"er //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif.

well i got my 9515c and it was broke in the some spot as your mt.
x3 with my treo SSi 12". but ok it was really bad packed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i work at UPS .. here in toronto neways .. doesnt matter who you know .. your package goes so many places .. believe me it gets tossed around for sure .. u jus gotta have good packaging .. lol .. its gonna take some serious hits sometimes ..

i'd say like 90% of these "oh ups/fed ex broke my shit" threads falls back on not being packaged good enough. if the sub weighs more than like 40-50 lbs you need to build a nice wooden crate for it to be held in and cram it full of paper so the sub can't move.

somebody should make a thread on how to properly pack a sub to ship. i only know one way though. u get a box,put a styrofoam piece on bottom, put sub and 4 syrofoam pieces on each side and 1 on top. works fine, works much better than peanuts.

I'd almost get a new basket and re-cone. MUCH less chance of just a basket getting broke. Yes, you're out a little more cash but you'll have a sub for sure come show time.

MT's, DD's, etc. should always be shipped in the same manner they leave the factory, or IN A CRATE.

DD has custom foam packing that secures the sub. Other companies make crates. If you buy a sub from someone on the boards, make SURE proper packing is followed.

I've talked to the people at UPS. They say the package should be able to fly down a conveyer at 100mph and come to a RAPID(wall) stop. The drop height is around 4ft.

DHL managed to break the center piece of this crate i built for a 45 lb Blueprint 1203... (shipping wight was around 50 pounds)

note that it fit perfectly inside the box it shipped in...

the sub still arrived in good shape, but CHRIST... what do they do to those boxes?

drop 'em FOR FUN:furious: i really don't know. The UPS person said the conveyor thing was for cheap shipping...you can pay more and it won't be handled like that.
