just got this from fedex. it was insured, but they are saying itll take 4-6 weeks, and they will take the sub.

with the only shows local to me coming in the next few weeks, i dont see any choice but to go ahead and pay for a new basket and a recone.

i jb welded it back together, however i dont know if itll hold or not, and it was warped where it broke, so it will be a small bit uneven.

in a big box stuffed with foam peanuts, and heavy paper wrapped around the sub.

yea JB weld should hold it. it might be a bit uneven, hopefully your box is not vertical lol.

but they should NOT take the speaker from you. i dont know, i wouldnt let them =\

foam peanuts do not hold speakers in place... why the fvck do people use peanuts for shipping speakers?! especially a heavy one in your case... **** retards.

i have a horror story also, but this one is w/ usps. and i'll have to wait 21 days from shipping date to file a claim:

ill still make the show. if i jb weld it, then drill a mounting hole in the broken flange pcs, and mount the sub, then mount the broken pcs together by screwing them to the baffle, it should still function as a complete driver.

thatll have to do until i can get a new basket and recone.

in over 20 years, ive never had to repair a sub in this manner. anyone here have experience with this?
