I hate dipshits

Once one of my friends came and ask me to re-wire his whole system Amp, subs, CD player...NOT door speakers though. So I ask him why he needs it re-wired, he told me that he was just driving along and It stoped one day. He also said that everytime he put a new fuse in that it would pop. So I go roll my tool cart over to his truck open the door and wam right there running in the weather gasket of the door is 4 gauge power cable. He ran the wire through the door jam and up and along the weather striping. and low and behold the insulation on the wire was stripped and touching the door jam=blown fuse. So needless to say His whole system was like that (ducktaped wire connection, amp not mounted, three screws holding in a sub, grounded to the car jack) Here is a pic of how the wire was run. The Red line is the wire, It travels right under the hood until it gets to the door.

Better than if he took out the fuseholder or put a piece of metal across it, "to make it work"...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Fuses are telling you something.

we have this dumb mother ****er that comes in everyday for the past two weeks to buy round fuses 80amp, i tell him everyday that he needs to get a new 4 gauge kit and a new ANL fuse holder (he's running 1800 watts on 12 gauge wire)

never listens.. so like 3 days ago, he comes in, asks for some prices on 4 gauge kit, + anl fuse holder + install.. comes back like 2 hours later and pops his hood is like, hey.. look at this, so i look, his fuse holder melted to the battery and he took it apart, and it's just like sitting there, he's got a piece of speaker wire, doubled up (4 wires) going from the battery to where the + wire goes to the amp in the rear.. i'm like dude, you're going to start a fire, and thats the best thing that could happen with this like that.

so he's like yeah, i'm gonna get that 4 gauge in like 20 minutes, you think it's okay for now?

so i told him no, and we disconncted everything and taped it off so he could go to the bank and check he never came back after that.. ****ing wacko.

Oh man... my brother's truck..

I did an strictly bass install in it by putting my Beals 8s under the back seats attached to a Jensen JXP460. It was like 0.1 cubes apiece sealed but he liked it. During the install the fuse blew. Well, I put a thin piece of 18 guage wire in it's place, and I told him to go get a real 40 amp fuse the next day. A week goes past and I hear nothing about it. I find his truck out in the back yard after he washed it one day, so I went to check on the fuse. Sure enough, the wire was still there. He hadn't replaced it. On top of that, he tried to move things around so he could put in a toolbox. He'd pulled on the amp so hard that the ground came off, and had welded itself to the amp's heatsink. One of the subs was not hooked up, the other barely hanging on.

Longer story short, I pulled everything. They remain in safe places to this day.
