I Hate Alpine 9855

Ok, so here is why...I go and buy the new cda 9855..I installed it and it worked great for about a week. Then, it stopped ejecting cds, so I pull it out and reset it. That fixed the problem for about another week, and it stopped ejecting cds again. So I take it back and get another cda 9855. That has been working great for about a week till just now...I go out to my car, turn on the radio, and it starting playing music, but no buttons or volumn nobe was working. So I try the remote...nothing happens. So I push the reset buttoon. The power turns off, but all the buttons still don't work so it wont turn on. I tried take the face off and putting it back on, but that didn't do anything. Agh, I'm so pissed off. I had just got done fixing a flat tire on my car and decided to listen to music...then this happens. Screw alpine and screw my car.

ive had my 9827 for like a year now

absolutly NO problems.

sounds like your retailer is giving you bunk equipment.

i think there have been many issues with the new alpines. i believe a large number of them were even recalled because of these failures.

apparently alpines QC has been slipping, as well as some of the quality of the HU's(IMO). i have had few problems with my 9815, even after i took a soldering iron to it

same here. I thought mine was messed up because the sound in the right side would go out sometimes. But I just pushed on it and something just clicked into place. what should I do? Try for a 3rd 9855 or should I return it and get an older alpine?

I thought they released a mum 2nd version of the 9855s and 9853s... ask your dealer.

i doubt they will do that. but keep getting new ones, maybe ask for the next model up because you are sick of getting broken ones.

if they sell eclipse, tell them you will settle for nothing less than an eclipse deck that has AT LEAST the same features as your alpine.

i doubt they will do that. but keep getting new ones, maybe ask for the next model up because you are sick of getting broken ones...

Have you been reading the forums at all? There have been countless posts from people complaining about 05 alpines, especially the 9855.

I can't decide to see if the 3rd try is a charm or just get my money back and buy an older one and save some money. Or, I could just go with a different brand.

or the 9835. I mean if u got a warranty I dont see why u have a problem getting another deck. Its not like if u pay for it. At least u know ur gettin ur moneys worth out of ur warranty

If you want to try a different brand, I would strongly recommend checking out Eclipse.
