I got rid of the audiobahns, have typeRs coming. will this amp be too powerful?

I got rid of my POS audiobahn package, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif just payed $200 for two used 12" typeRs yesterday, and my dad and I are starting work on a 4.3ft^3 box tuned to 32hz tomorrow.

My question: I'm thinking of ordering a 1600w amp, and wiring the subs to 2Ohms. This means that the speakers will be getting 600 RMS, and I've heard that typeRs are underrated in terms of power. I should be fine running this setup, right?

I'm obviously open to any other suggestions for amps that can put out about 500 RMS @ 2Ohms, and have a max of up to 1500 @ 2Ohms. It either needs to be 2 channel or bridgeable mono, and preferably not too much more than about $250.

dont go with that soundstorm. You gotta look at rms power not the max. if you keep an eye out in the classifieds or an ebay and you can probably find what you are looking for.

umm, the amp you posted is 600 rms 1600 total and its 2 channel. so its 300 rms each channel i think. i think i read that right. just didnt kno if you knew that...

My R 12 is taking 1200rms like a champ. I would say 1000rms is well within the subs limits. check out the hifonics bxi2006d.
