I got a citation

you've got to be retarded not to just take care of it now!!!! go to court talk to the prosecutor and get the charge/fine reduced. $190 aint bad, i just paid a $440 ticket a month ago!

ok, i have unpaid tickets like 14 from the last 3 years...no warrants or anything, u guys are dumb lol... it just goes to collections... yea they can garnish ur paychecks, but u can do like $35 a month and they wont do shit, and u all are scared for no reason.. u wont get a warrant for a traffic ticket

How irresponsible can you be? Just go to court, plead not guilty, it will most likely get reduced or best case get thrown out if the officer doesn't show.

You screwed up, deal with it or you'll end up paying lots more later on.

BTW, the next time you pulled over, it will more than likely be on the way to work, so not only will you get arrested, but you'll miss work which will cost you EVEN MORE MONEY.

Hey i didnt read through the whole thread so i dunno if this was mentioned. I have experience with this area unfortuneatley. Ok first you don thave 10 days, you have 30 days to plead guilty or pay or whatever(atleast in florida). I didnt pay a ticket and my license got suspended and its not worth it. I still drove and what not but still that doesnt matter, my license was suspended and i ended up paying alot more money to get it back, then later on i found ou ti had to pay some kind of court fees or whatever and it ended up going to an attourney and i was going to get sued by the state and my license taken away for 5 years cause i never paid those dues. Trust me man just GET A LAYWER, don tpay the 186 dollars, the lawyer will get you out of the ticket and you wont have points on your license and your insurance wont go up and a lawyer cost 100 bucks so there you go hire a lawyer. One of those guys on the commercials that tell you they can get you out of a ticket. They work, i have done it atleast 3 times, and no point on my license, cept for that one time when i didnt pay it at all.

This may be a valid response for anyone living in the state of WA (though I have serious doubts on this) but most other places in the country the above-quoted statement is simply laughable.

I've never seen indications from anwhere that failure to go to court on a summons for anything (a ticket for a moving violation is a court summons inandofitself) wouldn't result in a bench warrant being issued. We're not saying a warrant like some major criminal might earn themselves but it is still a warrant nonetheless ~ called a bench warrant as it is issued from the judge's bench when you decide not to go to court and they figure this out when they call your name and receive silence as a response.

I speak from personal experience rather than hearsay so your assertions that "u guys are dumb" and "u wont get a warrant for a traffic ticket" are both insulting as well as flatly wrong (excepting possibly Washington state with which I have no experience of their law enforcement agencies at all). I've been issued tickets that for one reason or another I didn't get taken care of in a timely manner....some not at all....and those inactions resulted in both issued warrants and eventually a suspended driver's license.

Satan ~ Again - the best advice I can offer (and apparently is agreed with by the majority of thread respondants) is to take care of the ticket on time or at the very least go to court and plead not guilty, be given a future court date to come back and argue your case, and then as a result have some extra time to get it sorted. The only drawback to this is generally if you plead not guilty and come back to court a second time and still lose it will cost you more than the originally quoted +/- $190 after they tack on court costs and whatnot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

ive been pulled over plenty of times and no warrant.... when i get the ticket, i choose option 2 or 3, and go to court and they say u have 30 days or make payment plans, then that way u dont get a warrant cause u showed up to court... i would think with $4000 in fines they would have came got me by now

IIRC it was also just recently that washington state changed the law and stopped issuing arrest warrants for FTA traffic infractions. You still lose your license though, so im suspect of you saying that you dont go to jail when picked up and are driving on a suspended.

You REALLY dont want to go by "buddies" advice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif . Go to court, chances are it will be reduced.

Or, dont go to court, get a warrant, and go to jail.

Of course, you could have avoided the whole thing by not fvcking up like this in the first place (or not getting caught //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif).
