i didnt read all of the posts, just the first few. but in my state if you dont pay then when they run your name then youll go to jail, or if you dont pay they will suspend your licenese. if you miss your court date they will come look for you (i missed mine b/c i had a fukin pos lawyer that didnt tell me i had a court date that day) and the cop came and arrested me and my licenese was suspended for even longer, so i have to take care of everything now and pay it all off. so if i was you i would pay the $190 b/c its all going to show up when you get pulled, renew insurance, renew tag, renew drivers licenese etc. I ended up paying $3000 and still dont have licenese back b/c of shit like this.

bump lol.. i got a letter today.. i cant get another ticket for a year or i loose it for a year... ahhh... u can get up to 5 tickets in 24months or u can loose it or be put on probation... i got lucky on that one.. but i have 13 tickets in the 24month period

If this was directed at me and my $40 to the state remark then no, not defensive driving. The fee on my license to renew it is $37.50 or something like that ~ I have a Chauffeur's License which allows me to drive anything up to 26,000lbs or combined truck/trailer length of no more than 40 feet, limos, taxis, and buses provided they don't have air brakes.

I understand if you dont have the money at this time to pay it, but you should have up to 30 days, not 10 to pay it off. So what I would do is save up for that month and pay it off, will pay off in the long run. Dont be like "DBHITTIN" and never pay and shit just keeps adding up. Eventually he will get nailed and be up shitcreek with no paddle. Good luck!
