I give you, the Sundown SAE-1000D PROTO! THANKS JACOB!

The graphics are not final, was just trying out something on the protos. I may drop the graphic entirely and just have the logo chilling out by itself. Thoughts? I'd like to use a different design than the SAX and SAZ lines but have not finalized the SAE design yet.

As for the design, it's not based on US Amps.

The SAX-250.2 will be produced for sound quality excellence just like the rest of the SAX line. Anyone who has heard an SAX has been VERY impressed. This one is going to be VERY large in size... the SAX-100.2 has 12 output transistors, think about it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Jacob, id say keep the logo but do 2 corrections, i think the 2 lines that underline and overline the company name should be dropped. Other than that i think it looks good, when i saw the pictures of the logo, it actually looks like a moat type of design with a border elevated, a spacing, and the name elevated. good use of shading too.

I like the original silver middle piece, but i think it would be to similar to the sax and saz line. id say keep case all black except for logo. But i would say that you should decide if the case should have 5 or 3 sections on all amps, that way people can run both in a series and have a similar case design just differen logos.

Mike-

They are some nice sounding amps. I like mine, it doesn't LOOK the same but it is the same AMP.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

UPDATE:

Got the 100.4 today and let me say it is the sexiest, heaviest, piece of art work (car audio) i have ever seen and touched.

No words can describe how nice the features and build this amp has.

Unto pics of 100.4 and gut shots of both

Gut shots in next post

Mike-

Holy god

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I'm glad I bought my sundown in october or whenever I did haha.

Jacob, I got a question for ya real fast, I'll drop ya a PM.

I smell another forum boner //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If you can get this 250.2 out....I have this crazy feeling its going to end up in my ride......LOL......I'm all about taking care of the little guy if they produce great products.....

When you mean large do you mean the amp size? I hope its not big......thats what I like about Zapco C2K's....and XETEC.....amps are small with nice power.....The Arc Audio XXK-2500 is small and with huge power..... Keep the amps small and sleek......

It'll be impossible to keep it small with the type of design I use for the SAX series (extremely overbuilt). It'll be quite large due to the sheer number of output transistors it will have. I prefer this type design to keep all of the devices WELL within their operating limits.

I'll post measurements when protos are ready.

Its not going to be like 30 inches long and 18 inches wide right? I'm not smart on amp designs...but how does Zapco and some of the elite brands manage to keep the designs small and have amazing specs? I know they claim to only use hand picked components but the design is small.....how does Zeff and Mantz do this?

Oh no, it won't be THAT big... just pretty big //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It'll have the same style heatsink as the SAX-100.2 and SAZ-1500D, just more length.

It all depends on the design, you can do alot of different things to do it in a smaller space... put parts closer together... run the devices harder... etc... etc.

the 100.4 is 17 x 9 x 2.5 i believe. it pretty small for the amount of internals it packing.

I have a 35 - 36" wide amp base with ability to make a rack for taking into consideration the amount of gapping needed to run wires in between. Not to shabby. but i think ill mount these amps to my rear seat anyways or make a small amp bracket that connect to the rear deck / trunk bracing that way it looks like it connected to the box, but it isn't so no flexing and harming the amps.

We'll see

Now i need to research my wiring problem and cash $ for wiring, deadening, box, kicks, and labor. Man im sooooo screwed even with good deal i picked up for these amps.

Err i hate being 16 and having no job in High school.

:-(

I know Zeff and Mantz design some of the best amps in the world...........but I would love to learn how they do it......LOL....

Okay, well maybe it will fit in my Titan then.. So far I'm digging your amp designs......and I'm not afraid to try something new..... I've had Zapco C2K's, Digital References and References.....I've also tried out Arc Auido XXK's as of late.....all very very very very impressive amps.. I will give the Sundown a hard listen this weekend when I get her installed...
