i feel like such a noob asking this(even tho i basically am one), but i have about 1500 watts(rms) of subwoofers and when i get in my car and turn on the stereo, theres basically no bass, and it doesnt get very loud. is this because of the fact that i have a 300 watt amp? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif and would it get a lottttt better with a 1500 watt amp?

No doubt about it man, it doesnt matter how much RMS your subs are if you arent giving them the power they need (rms amp power)

If you don't want to spend the money on an amp, perhaps you could adjust your wiring configuration, and push them at a lesser impedance [ ohms ]

( provided your amp can do it, or is expendable. )

The more info you give, the better, more informed and more accurate the answers will be. Giving us actual equipment used would be a good start.

Given the very general info, yes increasing your power to 1200-1500 watts would be considerably louder. I dont know if you would call that 'much louder' though.

edit: I assume we are all speaking in terms of RMS power btw

generally more powerfull amp wont help you get much louder, but in this case, i would say yes, you need more power. 5 times more. tell us what kind of equipment youre using, it makes a big difference because most companies over rate their power handling/output, and some under rate.

first off list what equpiment you have. Otherwise it is going to be wuite hard to help you out. But from what it sounds like a bigger amp is a need i this situation.

Hm... Your subs want 1500 wrms, your giving them 300 wrms. I wonder if they want more power ? Hell, some subs wouldn't even move at that power... What a god****ed stupid question.
