I know people talk about the 1606 and how it is over-rated, but I have it hooked up to 2 12 Se's and they reach full xmax. This is of course keeping my voltage steady.

Box is 1.3~ each sealed.

I can even smell the coils after around 10 min at full tilt.....

I don't see how this amp isnt putting out 1600wrms.

I would think that might be the problem too.

I had a Type R on 1205 Hifonics with no problems for 8 months, I let my friend take the same sub and amp and he blows the sub within 5 days, I looked at the amp settings and the gain was all the way up =(

I don't think my gain is the problem, I set it with a fluke 177, 50hz tone.

Ive been running the setup for around a month now.

No, but the coil is hitting the back plate....id assume it was reaching full xmax...

This is how i was told to clamp the amps like most individuals do on this forum.
