I don't know if this is the right place, but I'm buying my first sub!

I'm trying to get a 10" in a sealed box or 12" in a ported box (will get correct box after the sub is decided on) for my 06 Altima.

The good part is I already have a free amp which my cousin gifted me, a Rockford Fosgate 500a2. It's 500W RMS at 4 ohms, so I'd need either a 500W or 600W RMS sub with 2 ohm DVC or 4 ohm SVC. The 500a2 was apparently rated at 700W actual RMS, but I don't care as long as it's somewhere in that range. I'll be taking it easy on the subs for the first month either way.

Also, considering the fact that I'll be using the correct box for best/loudest/hardest sound for either the 10" or 12", I don't care which one is especially LOUDER, because either way it'll be loud enough for me, I'm just curious about which one I'll be able to FEEL more. Like pound my chest and stuff. I think it's gonna be the 10" sealed so that's what I'm focusing on, but if there's any arguments let's keep it for after the important stuff (paragraph below this one) because I'm less worried about 10/12 than just getting a quality sub of either size.

Now I've been thinking about getting the Rockford Fosgate P3 D210 500W sub ($136 on Amazon currently) or the P3 D212 600W ($151 on Amazon), but I've noticed lots of people saying that I can get better quality, harder hitting subs in the same price range as the Rockfords. What are some of these quality subs people are talking about, considering the price range above (might be willing to go to $200, but I'm a po' po' college kid that's also gonna have to buy a box for said sub, so... yeah //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ).

TL;DR:

I have ~$150 I wanna spend on a quality 500/600W RMS sub that HITS, halp! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Sundown Audio SA-12, DC Audio Level 3, and a whole bunch of used subs lol. Keep in mind that it's more about the enclosure than the sub itself. Do yourself a favor and don't get a prefab enclosure, have someone build and design you one, or build it yourself using a proper design.

It is a 500 .2 right?

Run one coil to one side and the other coil to the other side.

I have done it many times, always works like a charm. HAha just busting your balls.

Good luck on the hunt. I personally would look for a sa-10 or 12

Yeah I know it's not the best car for a single sub, but I figure if I make the conditions inside the car as close to perfect as I can (right size box, right size/depth port if it's a 12, etc...) it might cancel out the deficiencies, or at least make it less noticeable //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I'm not worried about it though, it should still sound pretty **** good.

And it seems that people enjoy the SA-1*s, $194 on Amazon so I'll look around for a better deal (if anyone has a site/store they prefer shopping from, throw em on out!), but if I don't find one it's still in my range. Yay! All the reviews are vomiting praise so I'm pretty well convinced haha.

check around the forum. there are usually one or 2 for sale.

i know there is a sundown zv2 with v3 softparts in it up for sale now. that will take that amp all day long and will give the ability to run more power later with out having to buy a new sub.
