I can no longer trust my ears.......

Whenever people ask which speakers should I buy the correct response back is "trust your ears."

I was in the process of upgrading my system. I like Boston Acoustics a lot but I've always wanted to spend the bucks and buy Morel. Anyway, all that changed a couple of months ago. In June 2008 I was hit by lightning. I'm alive but my life has changed. Now I cannot trust my ears. Sound is constantly changing. I used to love the way my system sounded to me. Now it sometimes sounds great and other times it sounds muddy or really bright or muffled. It always something new when I jump into the car. I still plan on upgrading. I'm hoping at some point in time this sound fluctuation will settle down and I'll be able to trust my ears again. I want to get an Alpine 9887, BA Pro60, Alpine SWR-1024 sub. I'll keep my PDX 4.150 and my Alpine MRV-T320. One can only wonder what it's gonna sound like when I'm done with this upgrade. I was gonna buy the BA speakers unheard because no one in Colorado Springs sells them. I guess I could just hold off and save the money but what fun would that be?

get a eq and when it sounds different mess with all the knobs till it sounds good to you

my system sounds different every day, i frequently change my highs and lows, it never seems to satisfy me.
