i've been thinking about moving out too. but i am going to wait after i get my Assoc. Degree and move on into a University. That way I have a legitimate reason to move out without disrespecting my parents. Plus it will give me some time to save up some standbye cash.

i hope to be getting out of the house around the beginning of summer 08.

im talkin about apartments that wont even look at you unless you have 2 years of previous rent, good credit, and make 3X the rent monthly.

im assuming the OP has neither.

I moved out about a week after my 18th birthday. Bought a house when I was 22 (thank you Tosoh) and will build one at 30 (4 more years).

Owning is the way to go. Even in this down housing market, my value is still going up on my house.

but they wont, since im still in highschool, no job, and they just want me to pay for my own stuff now.. the weird thing is that, when my bro had an apartment, he was like 23 or 24, they paid for the rent, and utilities.

Life's a bitch. I cannot believe you want your parents to pay for your rent. They should be charging you rent now. I honestly wouldn't want my parents paying my rent.

You have no job, how can you pay rent?

Look at it from a parents perspective. You have no job...you may have *some* money saved, but it will be gone fast.

Get a job and pay for the stuff yourself. When I move out, I wanna be able to pay all my bills. Your parents still have control on you by paying your bills.
