i am so lost.....

i just did that and when i tested them out they both made a humming noise and quit working for a second and kept turning off and on. Theres gotta be something wrong with something. I hooked everything up right so im not understanding this at all right now.

your problem is you don't listen/read. you have a diagram as well as people spelling it out yet you keep replying saying the same shit. How could your 1 ohm capable amp not be capable of being wired for 1 ohm? It's as simple as reading and doing what has been written to you. wire the shit like the diagram says and turn up the gain on your amp. worry about clipping and bridging a little later. Asking questions is fine, but paying attention to the given answers is sexx
I just did everything you guys said but my subs were cutting in and out when i just turned my radio on. I get it, all the positives to positives and all negatives to negatives. I did that but why am i getting a humming noise from my subs and why do they cut in and out. Ill check to see if it goes into protect.

i have a class d amp. I think thats the problem.

Yeah you're right, this must be your problem. I'm gonna try to dumb this down as much as possible for you. wire your subs like the diagram shows and hook the + and - wire up to one set of + and - on the amp.

it might be that amp. i had it for a while and it used to cut out from time to time.

i don't know man. you might have some deeper underlying issues with the rest of your installation job. check the rest of your connections, etc.

you unscrewed the subs from the box and wired them like the diagram said to that fast?

ok, i just metered my subs. I just used a voltage meter and placed them on the negatives and positives on the amp terminals while the sub wires were connected and got a 1 ohm read. This pretty much gaurentees it is at 1 ohm right now doesnt it.

i believe i have battery or alternator issues. That probably explains why the bass keeps cutting out. I can't even start my car right now so it must be alternator or battery problems.

Im in jefferson city

you just found your problem yourself, congrats. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. You are 60 miles from me, if you come this way do let me know, may be we can meet and I can pull your hair out..lol j/k

I hope you had the car running while testing your stuff.
