I absolutely hate college

Not necessarily. My cousin is a CNA & she works as a traveling nurse.
A CNA is not a nurse, not even close.

Mechanics start at $16-18 here for first years, and up to $45 for journeymen. Seems like a no brainer for me. I make $100k a year with no formal schooling, doing safety related shiat.
here shops charge $45 an hour but the mechanics only see a fraction of that.

not with today, **** u have to have a bag full of pre recs before u can even set foot on alot of majors...

i believe they hold a ford badge for a reason. a cobra is a cobra, a real cobra is not a mustang or even remotely looks like one.
Actually, no, it didn't.

The old AC Shelby's from the 60's aren't even american.

x-ray techs start at $18-20 here.

& I understand you can make great money without a college degree, but it's getting harder & harder.

When my grandpa grew up you didn't even need an education to get a decent job. My dads generation could make a living with just a hs diploma. Today you really need a college education.

Yes, but trades are shorter, cheaper, and have the potential to pay better all along the way. You also go to scchool for a couple months, like 2-3, then work the rest of the year getting experience. By the time you are a journeyman, you have 4 years exp. You are very desireable.

This is what i meant by skills and treades will be come the better paying jobs once everyone has gone to school and learned things, they will still need the specialized handwork done

and an AC is just a modified model T, u know since all cars evolved from another and came from the same place, and a car is actually a moddified buggy, and a moddified buggy is actually a modified horse....

Any job is a trade......

the radiography program is 5 semesters of classwork & a minimum of 200 hrs training @ a local hospital.

& as a "journeyman" doing trade work nothing is guaranteed. You might have work one day & be unemployeed the next. It all depends on demand & the economy....no thx.

If you have a degree & certification in the medical field you will always have work.

Yup I tell everyone now to get a trade. The babyboomers are retiring, and need replacements. So many people jumped into IT around the year 2000 they flooded the market. People are afraid to do the "dirty" work. But guess what - less tradespeople = higher trades costs = better wages for those who do those jobs, and longer wait times for the "educated" person to get their shiat fixed.

Mechanics/Bodymen will never be out of a job. People will always drive the shiat out of their vehicles. They will always need repairs.

This is so far from the truth, its hard to find a mechanic without a job in my town, their basically hired and assured a job as soon as they sign uo for training... If you are good with your hands, skilled, and have any clue how business works you will have a job.

A lot of people repair their own vehicles.

My dad has a degree in business....but he does everything around the house. plumbing, electrical, etc. & all his vehicle maintenance/repair. The only thing he won't attempt to fix is heating/air .......which people are gonna find somebody certified to work on.

I know a lot of people who make a living being self employeed via several different trades. But it's not guaranteed & that's what pushes me away from it. I want something with stability. Which is why I've been second guessing engineering. experience > education in that field & I don't wanna work my *** off 20 yrs to finally make a decent living.

I'd rather have a stable job & build up retirement & benefits than work somewhere 4-5 yrs, get laid off & restart the cycle all over again. & if you're self employeed you have no long term benefits..... with a family you're gonna pay out your *** for your own insurance policy....its stupid not to have health insurance.

I went into aviation and I love but got tired of traveling and then the business crashed whiched ****** even more. Now quit that and going back to school for respiratory therapist. ***** i wasted all that time but oh well.
