Fresh from the horses mouth lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hybrid Audio Technologies is proud to announce that the Legatia series can now be ordered with optional passive crossovers!!

We still advise dealers to set up an active system when using the Legatia line but now the option is here to go passive if needed.

The systems availble are L31-2x,L41-2x,and L61-2x and after numerous hours of evaluation and using LMS we feel they are getting the job done very well.

Prices for the crossovers are set at $119.99MSRP per pair.

SPREAD THE WORD....now there is no reason why everyone can't enjoy better sound!!!

nice option for some but most people that are buying their drivers are running active set-ups anyway. Good way to bring extra money though.

Yeah it offers those that like the sound of the legatia's, but don't have the option to go active another option to consider. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

any specs on what the x-over points are? and if there are tweeter attentuation settings (and how many possible points, if so)? Do they allow multiple x-over points or is each x-over only able to do a single x-over freq/slope?

Hey guys:

Wow, that was wierd, I went to type and a new screen popped up. Hopefully this isn't a double post.

Indeed, we are now shipping the Legatia two-way sets with the optional passive crossovers. The Legatia L31-2x, L41-2x, and L61-2x sku’s are now ACTIVE.

We continue to strongly encourage dealers and end-users to not use passive crossovers, and rather spend a few moments setting up an active set-up, or at the very least a quasi-active set-up, detailed here:

http://hybrid-audio.com/White%20Paper%20-%202%20Way%20Quasi-Active%20Crossover%20System.pdf

and here:

http://hybrid-audio.com/White%20Paper%20-%203%20Way%20Quasi-Active%20Crossover%20System.pdf

The benefits for going active are numerous...read one of the introduction's on the links above.

These passives are for those that simply don't want to attempt an active or quasi-active system, or want an easy rememdy to building a quasi-active three-way front stage using a four-channel amplifier (channels one and two to run the midbass, and channels three and four with the passive crossovers for the midrange and treble)

In case you were wondering, what we have done is produced more of the crossovers we currently use in the Clarus kits. We did this because:

The Clarus crossovers do not have any board-mounted equalization specific to the Clarus speakers, nor is there an impedance correction network specific to the Clarus speakers.

The Clarus crossovers have an appropriate crossover frequency (5,250 Hz at 12 dB/octave).

The tweeter attenuation works flawlessly with the Legatia L1V2 and Pro tweeters.

The board-mounted components on the existing Clarus crossovers are fantastic. They have low tolerance polypropylene capacitors, and air-core inductors, with low tolerance resistors for tweeter attenuation.

I have personally tested the three new sku’s (Legatia L31-2x, L41-2x, and L61-2x), both in listening evaluations and using LMS, and these crossovers are getting the job done.

Everyone loves the look of the Clarus crossover, and especially the spring-loaded terminals as well (I am glad we're the only one's doing this).

From here on out, we will refer to the crossovers we make not by brand, but by number of ways...this now becomes our staple two-way crossover for both the Legatia and Clarus brands.
