I would like to paint my finished product. So, which one of these kits would you pick to paint? I know these are cheap kits but I will probably never use them more than 6 times in my life. I only have one use for them right now and don't know the next.... I like to do things myself to get the satisfaction of completion. Anyway, here they are:

Kit 1

Kit 2

Thanks!

For some stupid reason the links are working for me. Got a harbor freight anywhere near ya ? You can get a halfway decent cheap hvlp gun. I have a couple I use fo primering. Work pretty good. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Harbor Freight, relatively close. I'll check HF prices. I like these kits because they have three guns. 1.0, 1.4, 1.7 tips and I don't have to drive to get 'em. I'm thinking, primer, paint and clearcoat. One for each.

Ahh, now they work. neither seems to be that bad. Both have stainless needles which is good. Not familiar with either, but they both look like they would do the job quite nice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The small touchup gun with 1.0 tip is all you're likely to use for small projects like boxes and such. The 1.4 tip is normal for most base/clears on auto painting and the 1.7 would only be used on high build urethane primers.

You get what you pay for. My Sata MiniJet II touchup gun was $250. I've seen Chinese knockoffs of it at Parts America for about $69. I'd buy one of those before I'd get a $69 set of three pos guns that spit blobs of paint and have no replacement parts available.

But if you must.. those 2 kits look to be about the same except for the extra pressure gage.

i have the same brand of guns as the first link. I bought from O Reillys here for 120 bucks for a 1.7 mm gun and a 1.4 mm gun. Actually very nice for the price. Works great. We use a lot too. I reccommend.

Thanks! Just ordered them per your recommendation. BTW, what tips do you use for what? For example, use 1.7 for primer, etc. I have no idea since this will be my first paint project. Thanks!

yea id use that 1.7 for the primer and the 1.4 for the base and clear. id say no real use for the touch up gun, but with a 1.0 tip, id say you could prolly shoot clear outta that if you wanted, so u could have sep gun for each thing. we bought another seperate gun for our clear, dont know the tip size though

Thanks! I will certainly post pics when I'm done. Ordering a blower next week so that install will take precedence over the stereo. I'd like to get it in and to the track before adding all of the stereo weight. I've aready added around 100+ pounds between the wiring and the sound deadening.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

I'm with ya on the Sata , hands down the best I have used. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
