hu skips now...

I put a new system in my car a few weeks ago.. I have an alpine 9887 hu. I originally built a sealed box for my single IDQ12D4 V.3 sub. It sounded nice, not much volume though. So yesterday I built a ported enclosure and wow what a difference that made.. but now my HU will skip sometimes with the volume up.

The hu is in very secure.. actually its in so tight you can barely click it into the cage as there is not much room behind it for all the cables etc.. ideas?
