Hu question

Ok, I installed my sub/amp yesterday and I'm running on a stock deck with a line-out. (believe it's called)

I figured if I keep the stock radio so people who take a peak in my car and see a stock radio, that they'd think nothing of it.

Ok I'm done with that little rant.. anyways here's my question:

Does the lineout wire control the voltage or does the stock hu control it?

Because I have an Alpine 9855 (4v) that I could easily install if it were to increase output to the sub.
