HU problems...

I have a Pioner Premier DEH-P470MP, i couldnt find a harness for my van [ that doesnt have the data bus II ] locally. so i tried tapping into the stock harness with quick taps. The deck turns on, but when i tapped the speaker wires there was no output. I tapped into the same wires i used for tapping my LOC into my stock deck.

What could be the problem?

you got certain wires mixed up, positive and negative. were you able to use your balance and fade feature on your stock deck and have it effect your subs?

what i remember from the top of my head is that my stock deck didnt effect the sub output unless i changed the Balance [ left to right ] not when i messed with the fade [ front to rear ]

well if everything was correct it should have shut your subs off with your fade all the way to the front, or if you wired it backwards all they way to the back

i know that....i was just trying to get at that my stock speakers dont work when i tap my stock harness with my pioneer harness together using quick taps.

and i was trying to get at, that if you are tapping into the wrong wires you speakers arent gonna work

oh yeah i got that.....

i jsut didnt understand why i was getting no output from the same wires after i installed my pioneer.

well...i tried something.

I hooked up both my pioneer & stock deck at the same time. And the pioneer would only have sound out to the speakers when, the stock one was hooked up & not plugged in.

what could make it so the pioneer would only have outputs to the stock speakers, when the stock deck was hooked up but not on?

maybe something is jumping the speaker wires and connecting them through the HU. i honestly am just throwing stuff out there

ill guess ill try to call local audio shops to see if they would sell a harness seperatly...

since this simple thing is causing problems.
