HU in household

could i hook a battery charger up to a 12volt battery (an everstart maxx, the walmart kind), then take a 14g wire from the positive and one from the negative and hooke them up to a HU to play music in my house, i dont want to invest in a cd player for my house, and i have all three of the necessary items, if this is the case, laying around waiting to be used for something. So after i do that i can jus hook some old speaker i picked out of the garbage up to that and the would play ok? any answers would be great, thanks.

yea you can but i think you have to setup the battery charger to constant charge or something i believe but you'll have to have a 12v constant goin to the pos on the battery charger to i would run that to the battery and put a switch on it

ok i hooked up the pos and the neg on the batt up to the live wire, start wire and the illumination wire to the positive on the batt. then i hooked up the ground wire on the cd player to the neg on the battery. nothing happened, what can i do.

is the charger on constant. . . . is it plugged in

make sure power wire is on power ground on ground and you have 12 volt wire on power try it with just the charger i think you can do that

I'm not sure if the illumination requires a full 12v to operate.

i got it working

i just had to change out the HU with a newer one, sounds pretty good, better than going out and buying a whole new CD player for the house. also am i allowed to hook up a tiny amp to power like a 300 watt sub in a box this way off the battery if the battery is getting charged by a battery charger?

I hope you realize that the battery gives off explosive gas when it charges. Using one indoors is a bad idea.
