HU + Bass Remote question

I searched quit a bit but could never come up with an answer that satisfied my mind. I have an Alpine CDA-9883 that has a built on sub control (0-15), if I get an amp with a wired bass remote, are those going to be two conflicting systems? Say i turn up the sub level on my HU to 5. Will the remote only be able to control within the parameters that the HU will allow or will the remote only be able to control within the set gain on the amp. I fear it is a simple question that I'm over thinking.

The remote is strickly linked to the amp .. It will not conflict with the H/U settings .. Lets say you have the sub level on the deck set at a low db setting . The amp is going to recieve that signal and play subs at a lower volume . Now you go and adjust the bass remote .. This will raise the amp a certain amount of db's from the point of which the deck is set on ( some bass remotes are 0-12db or 0-18 db and so on) Now if you raise the sub level on the deck , the bass remote is now going to adjust the db's from that point on .. Im not sure if this is what you were asking about but I tried lol

Thats what I needed to know.

Basically the remote will go all the up and down but it is ultimately limited by the output of the HU.

I would set one and use the other to adjust. Like tuning the gain. If not you may boost the bass too much. My $.02.
