HPF on alpines?

i need to knwo if alpine decks below the 9855/3 have and kind of high pass filter.. cause my friend just got a 9851 and he wants me to kinda set it up for him.. and his biggest problem before was distortion in his speakers from playing bass frequencies.. and he has subs so he wants to turn his bass up on the HU but when he does it his speakers always distort.. and im nbto a big fan of bass blocking capacitors.

also i was thinkgin of buyign a new 9856 and it doesnt look liek it has a HPF on it either.. and its kinda necessaryt when you dotn have components

i have the 9851, i have the same problem, i just found a balance between enough bass and volume...other than that, you can get a high and mids amp with a HPF, i have an older sony amp that has one, it's eagerly awaiting some component speakers.

hmm, my alpine doesn't put hardly any bass to my speakers... does ur decks have sub control?

yours has sub outputs, so u can turn the bass down on the deck and turn the sub control on and turn that up
