So I just got flown out to dallas on friday last week, pretty nice place I gotta say. It's ******* massive but has so much going on that I would never stop finding stuff to do lol how many people do we have out there into car audio?

I'll be working in Addison (well my office will be there, ill be all over the country) which I hear is a real nice part of the city but I've been told to live in an area like uptown or knox/henderson or even plano. I expect to pay a lot in rent and fortunately my salary will afford me it, but if anyone has recommendations on neighborhoods with nice houses not far from the night life I'd appreciate it. A one bedroom apartment would be nice too, just as long as it's reasonably cheaper than a house. I want a 2 car garage.

tl;dr Basically I just learned I'm moving out to Dallas for a great job opportunity and I want to know more about it, and also things I should know to avoid like a plague (like south dallas)

I live in Arlington. Not sure much about Dallas. I like fort worth better. It's a little calmer. But I'm also married with kids, so I don't get out to the night life much

Good luck! And welcome to the area!

Probably a bit older than me, i'd like to enjoy the downtown life and party a little bit because I'm single and in my early 20s. Thank you! I'm not there yet but i'd say within a month i will be

There's a ton of people into audio... are you wanting to rent an apartment or ??
Sweet, and yeah my goal would be an apartment downtown near night life although i really enjoy the room and ease of a garage for working on things and keeping tools around. Basically just a nice place to stay thats quiet and no one bothers me or steals my truck because its gated (i hear car theft is rampant)

Congrats man!

You may enjoy living at The Mosaic if you enjoy Downtown dining, clubing and partying scene..You can hit the Dart rail right there and hit the West end and party there pretty good..Hit Deep Elm check out some clubs there..all kinds stuff going on down there..Live bands ect.Curtain Club is one of the best..has like 5 different clubs inside it.Trees is pretty good go to and Cyyotes..Blue Cat Blues club..Lots do in that area for fun and experiencing,,not far from AA center really.Alot of new bars and clubs opened up around that location..Addison kinda mellowed out a bit since ive been out and about...There is a Comedy club you can hang out off of Beltline Rd there used have like HBO Comedy. Addison Circle has some nice condos ect, but can get pricey for what you pay for.The Lofts arent too bad to look into.I mean.. You will never run out of things to do in the MetroPlex area.Near Rockwall and at the Harbor there are few things that go on there as well.Couple years from now there will be over a $Billion dollar beach front with condos and all kinds of things going on as they have already began that project.you can Google see what events are coming up..Always something going on here man.Get ready to sweat your azz off in summer time..It can get pretty hot here.At your age..and what you are wanting to do..Id stay at the Mosiac or close by.

Prob a little longer in TX but in FL you don't gotta do anything and sweat your *** off!! It's basically a gigantic sauna.
I lived in PR for approx 2.5 years..want to talk about humidity and sweating along mosquitoes..It would mist/rain for like a few min and return a few times a day.West Palm is nice but miserably humid there.

I was around Orlando/Kissimmee areas so it's not that bad. It rains for like 10 mins then sunshine the rest of the day. Might move there...get out of this expensive state.

tornado alley. its pretty hot in the south dallas is about 300 miles from the gulf so its not terribly humid but it's still hot as ****. take a cold *** shower closes your pours close that way your nuts aren't sweating by the time you get to work. lol
