How?

They blow them by:

1. Competing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

2. Not knowing the limits of their equipment.

If you run your gear within rated limits, and use quality stuff, you won't blow subs. If you do a shoddy install job and are unaware of the factors at work, you have a better chance at burning up stuff.

Ok because i just bought some subs for the first time the other day and im paranoid about blowing them some how. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

set your gains properly, and become familiar with the tell tale signs of an overworked woofer. listen to see if anything sounds abnormal, if something smells wrong it probably is wrong, if something looks odd (smoke, voice coil is not attatched to sub, gypsies have stolen your sub, fire...) check it out. just be aware that a speaker will give you signs before it quits, unless something is devastatingly wrong, in which case, there probably isnt going to be anything you can do in time to save it.

you really dont have to be too worried about blowing it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . hang around here a while, ask some questions, learn a little and you will be good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

Go to the amp section and follow the diy gain setting procedure. That will at least give you a little bit of security in this insecure world.
