How would this amp do powering my highs

I don't see why not. If you have just a set of speakers, it will be fine. Not a fan of Kenwood myself, but if it's sitting around, def go for it.

Should i run these with 6x9s or midbass speakers

I would personally say the midbass speakers. Go with the fronts hooked up to the amp, and if you do 6x9s, run it off of the deck. Thats IMO because you drive up front, so you would more than likely want the front louder, so you can hear it. Midbass/trebble in front and bass in the back is the way I look at it. But again, thats IMO.
